Zhengzhou International Land Port Railway Opens

In the past few days, a train loaded with BYD automobiles departed from the newly established Zhengzhou International Land Port Railway Operation Yard, bound for Uzbekistan. This marks the official opening of the Zhengzhou International Land Port and its dedicated railway line.

The Zhengzhou International Land Port is laid out into "One Port and Seven Zones" subdivided into 26 functional sectors. The "One Port" refers to the Zhengzhou International Land Port itself, while the "Seven Zones" create an international rail hub around the East Railway Station and a logistics service area for new energy vehicles around the West Railway Station. Around these two stations, the layout will expand into five major functional areas: bulk commodities supply chain, bonded function expansion, commercial trade support, water port collaboration strategic reserve, and emerging logistics strategic reserve areas.

Since the Zhengzhou International Land Port's first phase, including 300,000 square meters of high-standard warehouses and supporting facilities, was completed in late December 2023, the Henan International Logistics Hub's dedicated railway constructed by China Railway Seventh Group has become a notable highlight. This rail line, including a total of four stations, starts from Xinzheng Station with service to Xinzheng East Railway Station, the newly built Zhengzhou International Land Port West Railway Station, and the China-Europe Railway Express Assembly Center Station. The line spans a total length of 23.9 kilometers, including a freight yard covering 500,000 square meters.

Given that the west gate of the Zhengzhou International Land Port is less than 1 kilometer away from BYD's Zhengzhou Factory, newly manufactured cars destined for export can directly enter the port via internal roads and be loaded onto trains, thereby eliminating the need for truck transportation. The dedicated railway serves as a crucial gateway for the Zhengzhou International Land Port, a key provincial project for Henan Province to fully integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative. It accelerates the harnessing of Zhengzhou's transportation advantage into an economic hub advantage, and serves as an important strategic lever for promoting the construction of an open and strong province, as well as a modern logistics powerhouse. This initiative holds significant importance in accelerating the establishment of a new Four Port Coordinated Development advantage and strengthening the central region's major thoroughfare patterns.
