On the evening of November 21, 2012, Chinese Ambassador to Greece Du Qiwen and his wife hosted a reception for Greek young friends at the embassy. Chairman Amalia Matiatou and Chairman Botamianos of Greek-Chinese Association were invited to attend the meeting with more than 40 outstanding youth representatives from all walks of life in Greece．

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Du said that both China and Greece are ancient civilizations and have made outstanding contributions to cultural exchanges between the East and the West and the progress of human. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972, the mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Greek peoples have been deepening, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have been expanding, showing very encouraging prospects for development. The future belongs to the younger generation. We hope that more young friends will devote themselves to the cause of Sino-Greek friendship and become t new a force for the development of bilateral relations.
