In addition to "Orphans of the Zhao Family", we also launched columns on Li Chenggui and the Greek language.

This column specially launches the "Echoes of History" column jointly established by the Greek Studies Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University and the ECCRD. Pioneers in China-Greece exchanges will tell everyone their stories with Greece.

First of all, Mr. Li Chenggui who a famous Greek translator, It will bring you the story of his connection with Greek. Mr. Li Chenggui’s "Echoes of History" has a total of 22 articles ,but only 20 articles are published in this column. The other two articles, "Chairman Mao Concerned about the Establishment of the Greece-China Friendship Association-Chairman Mao Meets with Mrs Matiatou" and "His Past Life Was a Chinese——The Chinese People's Friendship Ambassador Ni Huiming" were published in the " Matiatou Column "And "OUTLOOK" column. Mr. Li Chenggui is a senior consultant, Greek literary translator and interpreter of the ECCRD. He graduated from the Russian Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University and is fluent in Chinese, Russian, Greek and English. In 1964, he was sent by the state to study in the Department of Greek History, Language and Literature, University of Tirana, Albania. In 1979, he was sent to Athens, Greece, as a reporter and chief reporter of the Athens branch of the Xinhua News Agency. He returned to China in 1993 and worked as an international news editor in the International Department of Xinhua News Agency. He retired from Xinhua News Agency in 1996, he is insisting on the cause of friendship and cultural exchange between China and Greece, and translated a large number of Greek literary works. He is currently a member of the Academic Committee of the Greek Studies Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University and an adjunct professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has been transferred many times to serve as interpreters for the leaders of China and Greece, including Ulanhu, Li Xiannian, Deng Xiaoping, Zhao Ziyang, Hu Jintao, Li Keqiang, and Greek Prime Minister Papandrio.
